Across the Mediterranean, teenagers are scrambling to navigate the complexities of High School. In the midst of standardised exams and college applications, regular classes prove to be inadequate, forcing students to a crossroad; either attempt to survive a system designed to extort them, risking failure, or succumb to the system and pay for private sessions. Such lessons can cost around $45/hour, and are provided by the same professors who should have thoroughly taught the material in the first place. The system created is highly expensive, inaccessible, exclusive, and is their only chance at success.
Enter Fourty-Two. We are a company aiming to organize the latent demand in a pre-existing market, helping reshape education in the Mediterranean.
Our vision is that of a system aimed not towards selling diplomas to the highest bidder, but towards making education accessible and possible to any hard worker, no matter what their background is. The name of the movement? Fourty-Two.
Previous Work & Accomplishments
The idea for Fourty-Two came out of the blue on a cold afternoon in October of 2018. All 4 co-founders were inspired by the youth of the Mediterranean and by the theme of the Hult Prize Competition that year, revolving around providing jobs for those youth. Fourty-Two wants to combine the concept of youth unemployment and education to cause a permanent shift in the educational disasters of the region. Fourty-Two was named one of the Top 6 teams in the San Francisco Regional Finals, and that was the start of the story.
